The Volt 276 has 55dB of gain.
Depending on your mic placement and application, this may not be sufficient and you may need an inline preamp to make the Volt 276 work with the Shure SM7B, EV RE-20 or other dynamic microphones with low sensitivity.
That being said, the compressor built in to the Volt 276 adds ~7dB of gain. So, if you’re using the compressor, it operates as if the preamp can supply a total 62dB of gain.
