In this article, we’ll test the audio interface to see if it can properly power a set of 250 ohm headphones for music listening, video editing, and vocal monitoring.
Quick Answer: We tested the headphone output of the Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 audio interface by listening to music, and working on video/audio editing projects and live recordings. We found it to be a comfortable experience and no hiss was detected at the higher levels.

Music Listening
The first way we did this is by listening to finished compressed normalized music on Apple Music and Spotify.
At 50%, Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 was great.
Turning it to 60%-65% gave us a fully immersive experience. The volume inside the headphones was so loud that you would not listen to it for a prolonged period.
If you want to listen to the details of a song, you could achieve that with the headphone output on the UMC22.
Video & Audio Editing
The second way we tested the audio interface is by working on video and audio editing production.
Since we are not working on normalized and finished sources yet, the levels aren’t quite brought up. We found that somewhere between 65-70% gave us a pretty good level inside the headphones so we could hear what we were looking for.
If we need a higher amount of detail, we found that if we turned it up to 100% we’d get that high sensitivity we need if we are working on something that needs final touches.
Live Vocal monitoring
The last way we tested this is by live vocal monitoring on a talking head video.
We found that just over 75% to around 80% gave us a comfortable level to the Blue Sona microphone level.
It was still comfortable to listen to with 20% headroom.
Headphone Audio Quality
We want to point out that the audio quality is great, and there is no hiss or static in the headphones whatsoever.
We found it better than Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 or a lot of other expensive audio interfaces.
There is no problem getting the 250 Ohm headphones with the Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 audio interface. This will power them and I think you will be happy with the mix.
