How To Use a GoPro As a Webcam

As demand for video conferencing increases, so does the demand for higher quality cameras and creative solutions to use camera equipment that you already own. You may be thinking “I don’t need to buy a webcam, I already have a GoPro”. And you’re right!

If you have a PC or Mac, this solution will work for you.

To use your GoPro as a webcam for your online meeting, you’ll need the following equipment.

  • GoPro Camera
  • Micro-HDMI to HDMI Cable
  • HDMI To USB Video Converter / Capture Card
  • GoPro Charging Cable (or a fully charged battery for each use)
  • GoPro Camera Mount/Stand
  • PC or Mac Desktop or Laptop Computer.

For the HDMI To USB Video Converter / Capture card, we recommend the Elgato Cam Link 4k because they enable video streaming at 1080p 60fps (really high quality) and offers low-latency (fast speed, minimal delay).
